Author's Talk with Vladimir Jakopanec

On 15th of October, the promotion of the recently published translation of the novel “Requiem for Bella Nemeth” by the Croatian writer Vladimir Jakopanec was held in the St Albans library. In a pleasant one-hour conversation, with reading of excerpts from the novel, visitors could hear a number of details from the life, literary beginnings, and creative work and literary role models of the author himself. Vladimir, as always, was relaxed and interesting. I would recommend reading the novel “Requiem for Bella Nemeth” in the original edition in Croatian or its newly published English translation. The recommendation also extends to the author’s previously published novels “In the Nefretitis trap” and “Heretics”, as well as the collection of short stories “Sultriness”, which for now have only been published in Croatian.
